PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS LIST IS NOT COMPREHENSIVE. IT SHOULD ONLY BE USED AS A GUIDE. THIS LIST REFLECTS COURSES THAT HAVE PREVIOUSLY BEEN REVIEWED BY GSW FOR TRANSFER CREDIT. COURSES ARE ADDED AS TRANSFER STUDENTS ENROLL AT GSW AND THEIR WORK IS EVALUATED. ONLY COURSE WORK FROM A REGIONALLY ACCREDITED INSTITUTION WILL TRANSFER INTO GSW. Please note that equivalencies and requirements may change without notice. In general, core degree program courses from institutions accredited by their regional Association of Colleges and Schools transfer as specific GSW courses or electives. The ultimate authority in determining how a course transfers is the GSW Department controlling the subject. Example: The GSW Mathematics department is the ultimate authority on how courses with a MATH prefix transfer. For GSW applicants, the official evaluation is done after your admission to GSW. For currently enrolled students, transfer credit evaluation is done when a new transcript is received in the Registrar's office. GSW TRANSFER CREDIT TYPES DIRECT TRANSFER Example 1: ENGL 1101 = ENGL 1101 Reason: Identical GSW course TRANSFER ELECTIVE Example 2: ENGL 1221 = ENGL 1--- Prefix (English), class level and transfer designation (1---) Reason: There is not a direct equivalent to a GSW course. Example 3: HRTC 2101 = ELE 2--- Prefix (Elective), class level and transfer designation (2---) Reason: GSW does not have a course prefix for HRTC, so this course is acceptable as elective credit. QUARTER/SEMESTER CONVERSION Quarter hours are listed as three digit numbers. Example: ENG 101 Quarter Hour (QH) credit is divided by 1.5 to = Semester hours (5 QH = 3.3 SH) Semester hours are listed as four digit numbers. Example: ENGL 1101 Semester Hour (SH) credit is multiplied by 1.5 to = Quarter Hours (3 SH = 4.5 QH) USING THE SITE Institutions may be searched by all institutions in a State. First, you will need to select the state and school you are transferring from. Then choose the course subject, level and term you wish to display. Once you have selected those options, the source institution courses and their GSW equivalent may be viewed by clicking "Get Courses". |
